Conner • Rosenkranz, established in 1980 by Janis Conner and Joel Rosenkranz,
\nis a private art gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The gallery is
\nwidely recognized for its expertise in American sculpture from its neoclassical
\nbeginnings in the mid-nineteenth century through mid-twentieth century
\nmodernism.
\nResearch plays an ongoing role in the gallery's program with scholarly
\npublications produced by Conner • Rosenkranz and Janis Conner's coauthorship
\nof the 2006 book on Harriet Whitney Frishmuth, and the
\nforthcoming exhibition catalog for the Cincinnati Art Museum 2008
\nretrospective of sculptor Bessie Potter Vonnoh.
\nThe gallery has also developed an extensive inventory of works on paper by
\nAmerican artists active from 1910 to 1950 and participates yearly in the Works
\non Paper fair. In addition, the gallery exhibits modernist material at Art20, and at
\nthe prestigious Art Show, sponsored by the Art Dealers Association of America,
\ndisplaying a selection of the finest works in inventory.
